There are times when it pays to look around, and to look up. I found myself taking the elevated walkway from VA Rufino to Greenbelt 5 one afternoon. Since I was alone, my iPod was again pumped up as I tried to navigate my way to my destination. Yes, I suck at directions. Getting lost is like a hobby to me.
I was halfway, or so I think, to the Greenbelt malls when for some reason, I looked up. There I noticed the graffiti painted on the walkway’s concrete ceiling. My curiosity got the best out of me, so I brought out my phone, kept looking up, and took snapshots. I was amazed to see how good the street art were so I took time to stop to for a few seconds to immortalise them through photos.
As I occasionally stopped to take photos, other passersby were looking at me quizzically. There were a few who took time to look up as well, but it seemed they did not appreciate those works of art the way I did.
I may have looked really stupid, but hey, I don’t care. 🙂 I hope to meet the people behind these works of art but I don’t know how that’s going to happen. (Crossing my fingers!)
If Bernard Clive said, ‘today, just take time to smell the roses, enjoy those little things about your life’, I say, today, take time to look around you and bask in the beauty of littlest things before they’re gone.
