My graphics mentor (and one of FT’s design gods) introduced me to ai2html and I finally found time to try out it this week.
This script is an open-source product by geniuses at The New York Times which converts your AI files to CSS and HTML — no coding required. If you want to make tweaks though, it would require you to fiddle with the settings a little bit. But this is rather easy even for beginners like myself. Their documentation is very thorough, and a Google cheatsheet is even provided.
For this, I used a couple of maps I have produced before for the FT.
Here’s my first attempt, and I think it worked out nicely.

And this is my second try at it:
This script is brilliant and very relevant to mobile publishing. Do try it out.
